Training for Community Mediators

Training for Community Mediators

Join us on October 8th for the Conflict and Communication labs to get the first day of this five-day training free! Learn more about the Conflict and Communication labs here.

This training takes the foundation from October 8th and expands into practical applications of conflict resolution in professional settings. It is especially beneficial for supervisors, frontline staff, and peer-level leaders who want to integrate these tools into their work and career path. The cost of this all-day training is $150.


Become a Mediator for just $400 more!

If you are responsible for managing team dynamics, organizational conflict, or community disputes, the next step may be right for you. Having taken the prerequisites at the free labs on October 8th as well as the October 9th training, you’ll have the option to enroll in our full Training for Community Mediators, taking place on October 16th, 17th, and 18th. The October 16th to 18th training is especially valuable for workplace leaders, HR professionals, and anyone managing teams. Anyone interested in becoming a mediator will need to complete these trainings, which prepare you to serve as a community mediator.

Here’s a breakdown of the costs!

  • October 8th morning and afternoon labs: A $150 value, FREE!
     

  • October 9th all day training: $150 (plus tax)
     

  • Go pro at our Training for Community Mediators on 10/16, 10/17, 10/18 - 8am - 5 pm for just $400 more (plus tax)!
     

  • We usually offer our Training for Community Mediators Program for $700. Because of our commitment to strengthening dialogue in our community, we are offering the first full day of training for free, you pay $550 for all five days of training!

The training is experiential and participatory, with a variety of activities to learn and practice mediation skills. Come prepared to participate and have fun with it! We encourage participants to use examples and reflect on their own life experiences as this aids in internalizing the concepts taught. We understand that some past conflict experiences can still be painful and we only encourage you to use those that you feel comfortable using in this intimate class setting.

This training is a foundational course for all DRC volunteer mediators. This 40-hour training meets or exceeds the regional standards for professional mediation training toward certification.
